Dear Alli,
Seems I’ve been away for a while, and I suppose I really have been. I’m currently in my room at another extravagant hotel. Yep, Mom kidnapped me again to go on another of her wild adventures! Not that I mind so much; girl-time with her is always a blast. (She spoils me rotten, you know!)
So far we have been traveling west, stopping for about a week’s time in Tijalo. This was the stop she had planned and told me about. It was also the hook, line, and sinker to keep me along for the whole trip. Once I was on the road with her, she knew I couldn’t just leave when I wanted to. So I just swallowed down the news that we would be traveling longer than expected with a grain of salt and plan to make the most of it.
Tijalo was a most exciting town to be trapped in. After convincing Mother to give me my own room, I finally got to lie down on a real bed. The woman had been in such a hurry that we had driven two straight days in the carriage, and it wasn’t exactly the best sleeping conditions. So taking advantage of the pillow-top bed with the warm blankets and the many pillows atop it, I took a nap until Mother came rapping at my door.
She had surprised me with tickets to one of the newest productions on the stage! It was so exciting! I got to dress up in a beautiful gown, and she even let me bring along a small mask to tease all the men with that were in attendance as well.
The play itself was amazing, and the actors and actresses very well trained. Oh! The play is called Kino’s Journey, and there are actually a few different plays that are scheduled to be performed over the next year. It follows the story of a young girl as she travels through different lands with a magical scooter that can talk and think.
Ah, to think that I am so very much like that young girl now. Traveling the world, meeting all different sorts of people, though, I am traveling quite on my own. I have not seen either of my cousins in weeks. Hopefully I will see one of them see to find out how they are doing. I hope they aren’t causing too much trouble or destruction.
Here I am at the end of the page, so I guess I’m going to go curl back up in that big bed again, awaiting the next exciting adventure tomorrow.
